Her mother, a wise and practiced herbalist, first noticed Rhyan’s affinity for magic when she found her toddler daughter chatting away with the local crows as if they were old friends. While others might have been spooked, her mother nurtured Rhyan’s unique abilities and encouraged her curiosity about the natural world and the forces that bound it together.

At the age of seven, Rhyan’s life took a dramatic turn. A stranger arrived in the village – a withered old witch named Morwen. She was drawn by the unusual magic that seemed to permeate the forest. Sensing the potent spark within Rhyan, Morwen took her under her wing, teaching her to harness her magical abilities and commune with the natural spirits of the forest.

Rhyan spent years as Morwen’s apprentice, honing her magical skills, learning to brew potent potions, and even starting to decipher the cryptic messages of the stars. It was during this time she received her familiar, a crow she lovingly named Obsidian. Obsidian was more than a pet; he was a companion, guide, and a conduit for her burgeoning magical power.

When Morwen passed away, she left Rhyan with a powerful legacy and an enchanted grimoire filled with spells and lore. Rhyan now strives to continue Morwen’s legacy, serving her village by protecting it from mystical threats and aiding those in need with her magic and knowledge.

Despite her young age, Rhyan is a respected figure in her community, a bridge between the ordinary and the supernatural. However, the wider world beckons to her, its myriad mysteries whispering in her dreams.
